Designer's Best Picks: Ellen's Design Challenge

We are loving Ellen's Design Challenge on HGTV - a new program which features furniture designers challenged to create beautiful, functional works usually within 48 hours or less.  If you haven't seen it yet, check it out on Monday nights at 9pm EST.

Susan Arann, designer and owner of American & International Designs Inc says "I just love to see that someone is showcasing the craftsman.  A furniture designer creates such beautiful pieces that often steal the show.  Ellen has found a way to bring these talented individuals to the forefront and it is amazing to watch them work."

Who are our top picks?
Tim McClellan and Katie Stout are both front runners, in our opinion.  But only time (and the judges) will tell.  We wish all of the contestants the best of luck and want to express our gratitude for being a part of such a fabulous new show!

"I love the way Tim uses reclaimed wood in his pieces.  We love using eco-friendly materials in our designs whenever we can.  His furniture is well thought out and timeless - no detail overlooked.  He is creating today's classics with yesterday's materials." - Susan Arann

"Katie is so in tune with tomorrow's market.  Her youth and vibrancy shine through in her creations while still boasting the maturity of a seasoned designer.  Her RISD background is showcasing the importance of a strong design education in building a solid foundation for absolutely amazing creativity.  She is ahead of the curve and I can't wait to see what she creates next." - Susan Arann
