A Piece of Tragic History Becomes Art
A 10-foot beam recovered from the wreckage of the World Trade Center collapse 9/11/01 is now being transformed into a work of art. The artist also recovered the steel cables from the WTC that hold the beam in place. The design is to be unveiled on this Sunday at Mercer County Community Park in New Jersey, near the Marina at 1pm.
There was an eerie beauty about the piece that was almost overwhelming to view but this piece of history, however tragic, has been masterfully turned into both an artful sculpture and a timeless memorial.
