Home Office Project: Finding Inspiration in Color
This is the third post in the series. See the first two: Getting Started and Defining Spaces and Purpose
Using the idea of creating a color palette, inspired by Susan's Color Corner Series, turned this nervous novice into a confident color coordinator. My mind was in a purple and green mode after seeing one of Susan's color palettes - Lavender and Green Inspire but I knew I wanted brighter colors, similar to my favorite space of hers - the Polka Dot Room.
Armed with my color scheme in mind, my first step in the process started somewhat unexpectedly with a clearance rack find in the office supply store. I found some great magazine files in chartreuse and black and some additional pieces in a royal purple. The plan was set.
From there I hunted for the perfect paint color - something light with grey and purple undertones - City Retreat. Furniture was tough, but after months of searching, I finally found my perfect black and white pieces and the Marimekko fabric for the window clinched the design.
The finished product is coming soon.
