Restoring Van Cortlandt Golf Course Club House

It is such an honor to be called in to restore and revamp the Van Cortlandt Main Club Room, Pro Shop and Locker Rooms.  This golf course has been such a large part of New York City's rich history and we are currently underway with design and construction.  We look forward to sharing our progress over the coming weeks.

Opened on July 6, 1895 in NYC, Van Cortlandt was the first public golf course in the United States.  William Lafayette Strong was Mayor at the time the course opened, but it was named after Stephanus Van Cortlandt who was the first native-born mayor of NYC.

The original club house building is full of beautiful detail and architecture.  The setting on the lake it as gorgeous as the golf course.  The house's locker rooms, dating back to 1902, have retained their original wooden lockers and we are planning to restore them to their original beauty.

Over the years, "Vanny", as the locals called it, has been home to so many New York duffers and to many famous faces like Babe Ruth, Willie Mayes and even the Three Stooges.  We look forward to honoring its rich history in our design process.
