Shades of Autumn

One of my jobs as interior designer is to analyze the trends, particularly the color trends for each season. Since we are in the midst of Autumn I decided to share some interesting new things I have come across.

What I like about this luxurious bed ensemble from Cliff Young, NYC is the mixture of patterns and textures. I am inspired by the live plant wall as the back drop. You will notice that the deep orange has a bit of shine to it as well as the texture on the pillow.

This seating vignette in Global Views, NYC introduces cream with rust and bright orange. The large graphic design on the carpet makes the furniture pop. I particularly favor the textured woven ball pillows and the sleekness of the arms on the side chair and settee. What is interesting is that the neutral color palette pairs- cream, grey- very nicely.

The slate grey against the strong palette of color drew me into this vignette in the NYC Global Views Showroom. You will notice the placement of the decorative glazed plates and metal wall decor is essential. I try in my projects to keep things from becoming too linear, making small voids between the groups creates an organic feel.
